Why Your Septic Tank Should Be Watertight

Septic tanks should remain watertight. Southern Water and Soil, Inc., installs Infiltrator septic tank systems with water tight risers and lids. It is important to keep your tank water tight to keep excess water infiltration from groundwater or from rainwater, especially if you own a pumped system or lift station.

The installation of a low pressure dosing system with properly installed check valves is one of the best septic systems you can install for longevity. A low pressure dosing system needs a a septic tank and lift station that remains watertight. If excess water enters the tanks it will pumped into the drainfield. This can cause the drainfield to become saturated and lose its ability to function properly.
